This installation unknowingly began when Steven Price salvaged three 20-foot, 8-ton historic gantry beams, dating back to 1883, that were part of the Denver & Rio Grande Western (D&RGW) Locomotive Shop in Salt Lake City (currently UTA Frontline headquarters complex).
The Engine Block was formerly home to Six States Distributors, one of the numerous businesses in the area that for over 100 years serviced trucks used to build the West.
Price Real Estate acquired the building to preserve and illuminate the area’s rich automotive history. Steven Price partnered with Utah-based Trisquare Fabrication to restore an old diesel truck engine and place atop the beam.
