This installation unknowingly began when Steven Price salvaged three 20-foot, 8-ton historic gantry beams, dating back to 1883, that were part of the Denver & Rio Grande Western (D&RGW) Locomotive Shop in Salt Lake City (currently UTA Frontline headquarters complex).
The free-moving engineer hat held in the Craven’s beak, coupled with the beam, celebrates the connection of the Transcontinental Railroad in Promontory, Utah. Michael partnered with Adonis Bronze, a Utah-based foundry, to bring the Craven to life.
